Bloc Party

Let's welcome this time a British band called Bloc Party. More precisely, the band comes from East London. The name Bloc Party has been used since September 2003. Previously it was known under various names like Superheroes of BMX, The Angel Range, Diet, and Union.

The current members consist of Kele Okereke (Vocals/Guitar),
Russell Lissack (Guitar), Gordon Moakes (Bass), and Matt Tong (Drums). Former members of the band include David Searston, Mat Coleman, and James Chorley. Some say that Bloc Party has been influenced by The Cure, Gang of Four, and The Smashing Pumpkins, to mention three examples.

To get more info about the band, why not try visiting http://www.blocparty.com? One of their popular songs is called I Still Remember from the album A Weekend in the City. Interested in the words of the song? Not a big deal! We've got them right here. (Perhaps, it would a good idea, too, to access www.youtube.com, and then enter the key words, for instance, bloc party I still remember, to listen to the song and watch the video.)

I still remember
By Bloc Party

I, I still remember
how you looked that afternoon.
There was only you.

You said "it's just like a full moon".
Blood beats faster in our veins
We left our trousers by the canal
And our fingers, they almost touched

You should have asked me for it
I would have been brave
You should have asked me for it
How could I say no?

And our love could have soared
Over playgrounds and rooftops
Every park bench screams your name
I kept your tie

I've gone wherever you wanted

(I still remember)

And on that teachers' training day
We wrote our names on every train
Laughed at the people off to work
So monochrome and so lukewarm

And I can see our days are becoming nights.
I could feel your heartbeat across the grass.
We should have run.
I would go with you anywhere.
I should have kissed you by the water

You should have asked me for it
I would have been brave
You should have asked me for it
How could I say no?

And our love could have soared
Over playgrounds and rooftops
Every park bench screams your name
I kept your tie

I would let you if you asked me

I still remember
