Victoria University of Wellington: Uni in Windy City

One of the several universities in New Zealand is Victoria University of Wellington -- VUW, which was founded in 1897 and named after England's Queen Victoria.

Victoria Uni has seven Faculties: Architecture and Design, Humanities and Social Sciences, Law, Science, Engineering, Education, and Commerce and Administration.

The main campus is located on Kelburn Parade (please see the pictures included here). The other three campuses are in Karori (Education Faculty) and in the city centre (Commerce and Administration Faculty, and Architecture and Design Faculty).

Currently (in 2008) there are approximately 17,500 students studying various fields at VUW, a university in a windy city. The speed of wind in Wellington quite often reaches over 100 km per (Some say it's good for sailing or flying a kite.)
